Clean Air Team & Southern Express Lubes to Offer Relief to Pump Prices and Air Quality Concerns

Central Florida Clean Air Team has partenered with Southern Express Lubes to offer a 50% discount on a fuel and induction system cleaning. The discount will be offered at Mobil 1 Lube Express and Shell Rapid Lube locations in Orange, Osceola and Seminole Counties.

ORLANDO, Fla. – (May 21, 2008) – With gas prices continuously on the rise and air quality regulations becoming more strict, the Central Florida Clean Air Team and Southern Express Lubes has the solution to help alleviate both problems. This Memorial Day weekend, customers will receive 50 percent off a fuel and induction system cleaning. The service will help reduce the amount of emissions and improve gas mileage for weekend travels.

In honor of Clean Air Month this May, the Clean Air Team has partnered with Southern Express Lubes to offer the one-day only discount. The service cleans carbon deposits from the engine’s valves, pistons, and combustion chambers. These carbon deposits can cause the engine to lose its power, destroy its smooth idle, and lower fuel economy.

“Carbon deposits are unavoidable as it is a natural result of burning hydrocarbon-based fuels in your engine,” said Kit Sullivan, Corporate Director-Training for Southern Express Lubes. “Performing the service once a year or every 15,000-18,000 miles will help keep your car running like new.”

Mobil 1 Lube Express, a subsidiary of Southern Express Lubes, will also debut its Purigen98 High-Purity Nitrogen Tire Inflation Service this Saturday at the location on Dean Road and State Road 50/Colonial. In addition to the fuel induction system cleaning, customers visiting that location will also receive 50 percent off the nitrogen tire inflation service.

The Clean Air Team, a volunteer group dedicated to improving air quality in our community, is a partnership of METROPLAN ORLANDO, the region’s transportation planning agency. Each year, the team celebrates Clean Air Month by educating the community on ways they can help maintain clean air in Central Florida. Team members will be available from 12:00 p.m. - 3 p.m. at Mobile 1 Lube Express, 10001 E. Colonial Dr. Orlando 32817, to talk to customers, hand out brochures and answer questions.
